Worship

This is a relaxed service where all are welcome, with praise, singing, prayer and listening as the Bible is read and the Word of God taught. Bibles are provided at the door and the singing is led from the overhead screen. Refreshments are provided in Meeting Point after the service as a good opportunity for the church family and visitors to meet more informally. After the service an area in the church is set aside for quiet prayer either individually or with somebody who will be there available for you.

A Hearing Loop and large print service aids are available.

This service is usually a more meditative service, but the fourth Sunday in the month is our E-quip service at the early time of 5:30pm.

Messy Church at breakfast time! Held on the third Sunday of the month 9:00-10:00am. This is primarily aimed at young families. We have a free breakfast for the whole family to join together, followed by a short service. The service is lively and noisy with singing, instruments, craft and story telling. Learn about God in a relaxed, child friendly way. Do come and join in.

For secondary school youth

Ignite is our church youth group which meets every first and third Sunday in the month after church from 12.30-2.30pm. We share lunch together and then do a social activity. This ranges from craft to games to film afternooons, to getting out and about.

See Witham United Reformed Church Youth Facebook site for up to date Youth information. Witham URC Youth!!!

Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday morning and the third Sunday evening in each month.

Crèche is for preschool children. There will be age appropriate activities on a bible theme as well as toys to play with. Parents are welcome to leave their children with members of the crèche team or stay with them.

The Junior Church children stay in church for a short part of the start of the service before leaving for their age appropriate groups. By doing this we like to show them that they are part of the church. During the group time the leaders will teach the Christian message through games, songs, Bible stories and relevant art, crafts and activities.

When the children leave the service they go into groups for the following school years:

Creche - preschool / Reception

Junior Church - Reception through to year 6

K-os  - Years 7 to 9

JAUL Year 10 and above

All our volunteers are DBS checked
